Andy DeSoto

Internet and social media technologies for humans

About Me

Andy DeSotoI’m Andy DeSoto, a 21-year native of Fairfax, Virginia.  I am a graduate of the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia and current senior at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia where I am a Psychology major and Computer Science minor.

When I’m taking a break from schoolwork, I am usually engaged in one of my favorite hobbies: music; playing the tuba for the William & Mary Wind Symphony or working on independent compositions; or keeping up with the rapidly-changing world of technology, gadgets, and social media.  I’m also an avid digital photographer.

I’ve been a blogger and technology enthusiast for many years, now, but this site is my first ‘official’ project here on the net.  Ever since Facebook launched several years ago, I’ve been interested in bringing my love of social media and social networking to those around me, and hope to do the same with the online world through this website.

If you’d like to get in touch with me, please visit this site’s Contact page.  You can also view my resume.

About This Website

This site was started in late March, 2008 as a personal branding and online identity project.  Since then, it has evolved into a site dedicated to news, tips, and commentary on Internet and social media technologies.

As of August 1, 2008, the aim of andydesoto.com is to:

Introduce individuals to new Internet and social media technologies, assist existing users in integrating these technologies into their lives more fully, and comment on usability, practicality, and accessibility in the digital age.
